Compleat Golfer celebrates two decades
Commenting on the magazine's landmark birthday, publisher Simon Turck said the magazine was celebrating two decades of successful publishing as well as the brand's growth to become a multiple-platform golf media provider.
“We are synonymous not only with a long and rich history as a print title, but now also with digital content in the form of a growing website, weekly newsletter, a mobile site and a presence on social media sites. It also offers gala events like the PGA Golf Show and Compleat Golfer Awards functions; workshops for the golf industry and sponsorship of golf events like the Pro-Am Championship.
All the top 20s
“There aren't many brands that can say they add value to their consumers, clients and the industry they serve in so many ways. We are proud of what we've achieved over the past 20 years - we have plenty to celebrate!”
The 20's theme includes 20 things to do before you die, top 20 golf courses, top 20 instructional tips, 20 years of equipment and the 20 worst things that can happen during a game of golf. It looks at what has become of the big names in golf from 1989 and other initiatives, such as the Toyota Lexus and Nintendo's Game Boy that also had their beginnings then.
Readers can win a Chevy Cruze worth R244&nbps;000, 50 double tickets to the Nedbank Golf Challenge and the opportunity to play the "Extreme 19th" hole at the Legend Golf & Safari Resort in Limpopo, while subscribers can benefit from a two-for-the-price-of-one subscription offer. It contains three supplements: the PGA Now 2009 Yearbook, The Compleat Pocket Guide to Golf Rules and Etiquette and the November issue of GCM Golf Club Management.
The publication joined the RamsayMedia stable in 1996.
