New guide to winelands wedding venues

As February is the month of Valentine's Day, Wine magazine has been busy compiling its first guide to wedding venues in the Cape Winelands. It will be produced by Leigh Robertson, former editor of Winelands Living.

"The Winelands is an idyllic destination for weddings and its popularity for those wanting to tie the knot is overwhelming," Robertson comments. "With Wine's knowledge of the estates, restaurants, wines and other attractions of the various regions, we are uniquely placed to provide a user-friendly guide to prospective bridal couples."

The Wine Guide to Winelands Wedding Venues will be a glossy, 76-page publication and will appear with the magazine's May 2009 issue.

Editorial content

Editorial content will include tips from florists, caterers, wedding planners and other service providers, as well as some fun transport ideas for "getting to the church on time" - and in style! A directory of service providers will be included for easy reference.

Celebrity couples who have recently been married will share their wedding experiences too. Wine will feature two weddings in the magazine itself, as well as recommending a selection of good wines at different prices.

From Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl to the more remote regions of Tulbagh, Elgin and Robertson, the guide will feature 50 beautiful settings across the Cape's wine regions, from prestigious estates and hotels to hidden gems off the beaten track. Venues included will feature both the small and intimate gathering, as well as the full-blown occasion, and will cater for all kinds of budgets.
