Warwick honoured as Print Media SA Fellow

At the MPASA Sappi PICA Awards ceremony held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg tonight, Thursday, 2 November 2006, Jenny Warwick, publisher of Crown Publications, was honoured as the fourth Print Media SA Fellow for 2006 for her dedicated contributions towards the PICAs. The annual Print Media SA Fellowship Award is regarded as the media industry's most prestigious award in recognising key decision makers, identified through nominations from industry stakeholders.

Earlier this year, Deon du Plessis, Stuart Craib and Trevor Ncube from the newspaper industry were also made Print Media SA Fellows.

For over a decade, Warwick chaired the PICA committee on behalf of MPASA. The PICAs, celebrating publishing excellence in the magazine publishing industry, is the most important event in the industry's calendar and organising the Awards is a mammoth and arduous task.

Not only is there the pressure of raising funds, but also the pressure of meeting members' needs for variety and change. Deciding upon relevant categories, nominating judges and the logistics of the project demand both energy and dedication. Colleagues watched Warwick over many years doing all this to produce a spectacular event year after year and thus believe she deserves this award for her efforts and commitment.
