Vivotek camera monitors behaviour patterns of drivers

Westcon Security Solutions has introduced a new camera which will enable fleet and transport managers to monitor the behaviour patterns of drivers.
Vivotek camera monitors behaviour patterns of drivers

The Vivotek mobile dome network camera is extremely compact and as a result is perfect for use by fleet and transportation companies alike as it can easily be placed in the 'cockpit' of a truck or bus as well as in the cargo hold should the need to watch goods arise.

Available from Westcon locally, the cameras also include the combination of an on board GPS, enabling it to act as an accurate and real-time surveillance system.

"By having a camera on board their fleet, transport managers and fleet dispatchers can get a better idea of the behaviour patterns of drivers, the speed at which they travel, the routes they take and even the hazards and dangers they are met with on the roads," states Gert Byleveldt, business practice lead at Westcon.

    Tamper-proof housing

The Vivotek cameras have been designed to withstand shock and vibration, all the while maintaining stable and reliable video while on the move. In addition they boast a tamper-proof metal housing and IP66-rated housing, to protect them from vandalism as well as humidity, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
Should someone elect to tamper with the unit, a signal will be sent to security personnel notifying them that it is no longer functioning.

Other notable features of the MD8531H include a MicroSD/SDHC/SDXC card slot for local recording as well as the inclusion of WDR Pro technology, for the capture of clear images even under extremely high contrast environments.
