On Wednesday night, 22 January 2013, Bafana brought joy to South Africans when they won 2-0 against Angola in the second group stage match of the tournament.
Bafana bagged three maximum points when they beat Angola at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban.
"The team showed commitment to winning and they are flying the flag high. We are proud of them and we will continue supporting them for their upcoming games," said Mbalula.
Bafana are now leading Group A with four points after Cape Verde forced Morocco to a 1-1 draw. That makes Cape Verde in second place with two points, followed by Morocco with two points as well and Angola with one point.
Bafana will play their last group stage match against Morocco at Moses Mabhida stadium on Sunday, while Angola will face Cape Verde at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth on the same night.
Five days into the tournament, South Africans have continued to show their hospitality to visitors. The public is encouraged to visit their respective match viewing centres to watch the games and support various competing teams.
South Africans are also urged to wear their favourite sports shirts on Football Fridays until the end of the tournament in support of Bafana-Bafana.
