SA footballers Tovey and Baloyi appointed ambassadors

Standard Bank is the exclusive sponsor of the Trophy Tour and partner to the tournament's Player Escort Programme.

With the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, South Africa 2013 to be staged in five South African cities from 19 January to 10 February next year, Standard Bank is giving football fans around the country the opportunity to get up close to the trophy at selected shopping malls in each of the tournament's host cities.

Chance of a photograph

Members of the public will be given the opportunity to take photographs with the trophy and Tovey and Baloyi, as well as talk to them about their Africa Cup of Nations experiences.

Tovey and Baloyi will be sharing their experiences of playing in Africa's top football competition, having both reached the final of the tournament as players. Tovey lifted the trophy for South Africa as skipper the last time South Africa hosted the competition in 1996, while two years later Baloyi reached the final with Bafana Bafana in Burkina Faso, but ended up on the wrong side of a 2-0 defeat.

Standard Bank will take the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, South Africa 2013 Trophy Tour, to 11 African cities: Kitwe, Ndola and Lusaka in Zambia; Mbabane and Piggs Peak in Swaziland; Walvis Bay and Swakopmund in Namibia will complement the South African leg of the tour:
