High expectations for third Africa Rice Congress
The African rice sector faces the challenge of enhancing its production, processing and marketing procedures to keep up with demand, since rice is the most rapidly growing food source in Africa. Competitive and equitable rice value chains need to be developed, leading to reduced imports and increased regional trade.
The third Africa Rice Congress (ARC2013) will provide an opportunity to participants to discuss issues relating to rice science and technology, institutional innovations, policies and key investments needed to significantly increase rice production, processing and marketing in Africa.
