Outsourcing and its effects on the bottom line in Africa's mining industry

Africa's mining industry experienced substantial turmoil and challenges in 2012, resulting in reduced productivity and operational efficiencies. Although the industry is starting to stabilise on both the labour and operational fronts, mining companies are hard pressed to rebuild reduced capacities and profit margins experienced towards the end of last year.

Fedics Site Services specialises in the set-up of fully functional sites in remote locations, including the management of supply chains, quality processes and supporting infrastructures, including catering services. We have witnessed a 15% increase in mining companies wanting to outsource these functions to ensure a renewed focus on their strategic priorities in 2013.

We have extensive experience operating in many countries in Africa. We hope to deepen our expertise in the mining landscape in Africa and continue to align our services with its challenges and opportunities.

Growth-and-development strategy

Fedics Site Services' participation at this year's "Investing in African Mining" Indaba for the second year in a row, is certainly part of our growth-and-development strategy in the mining industry across the continent.

The Mining Indaba presents us with a unique opportunity to network with industry specialists and, most importantly, our current and future customers.

Fedics Site Services is particularly pleased to showcase our advanced outsourcing solutions as we recognise the important role that technology and better infrastructures will play in the continent's success.

As Africa remains the most promising investment frontier in the world, we are confident that this year's Indaba will present us a wide range of opportunities to extend our already extensive network across the continent.
