Delicious: music festival for food lovers
The 'Delicious International Food and Music Festival' will run 5-6 October 2013 at the Blue Hills Equestrian Estate in Kyalami, Johannesburg. Styled as a highbrow event, it offers UK chefs, Grammy winners and a DStv Celebrity Cook Off hosted by well-known DStv chefs.
VWV Massive, a new division of leading international brand experience agency VWV, will stage the event that is presented by DStv in association with Checkers, Ocean Basket, The Sunday Times and Sowetan.
UK celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli, Ed Baines and John Burton-Race being flown in from the UK to serve up gastronomy in exciting pop-up versions of their London based eateries. On the music front, acid jazz band Jamiroquai will headline the event, with popular local performers include LIRA, Prime Circle, Danny K, MICASA, Khuli Chana, Blackbyrd and Household Hold Funk, making up some of the support acts. Festivalgoers will have three music stages to choose from, each with their own unique style and genre.
The culinary experience will also include a Checkers tasting experience and a huge artisan food market.
DStv Kids, together with youth brands Converse and Mille Kids, will host child-friendly areas, ensuring children are kept entertained while their parents enjoy the festival. The kids area will also include activities such as skating half pipe, a "Bend it like Beckham" inspired soccer arena, chill-out zone, various kiddies activities and much more.
