Enter Good Food & Wine Show Product Awards
Any food, beverage or lifestyle associated brand that has launched in South Africa in the past 12 months can enter the Good Food & Wine Product Awards, which recognise innovation in these industries in South Africa. Show exhibitors may enter free of charge, while non-exhibitors pay R5000 excl VAT per product entry.
A vital component of building and managing brands is research and setting brand objectives and the prizes move towards these objectives as the winner receives R1 million worth of development for his or her business, made up of the following:
- R750 000 worth of Nielsen research
- 36m2 stand at the 2012 Good Food and Wine Show, valued at R69 300 excluding VAT
- consultation to the value of R30 000 with the CEO of Product of the Year
- 12 month 'In the Spotlight' campaign on The Good Food and Wine Show website
- guaranteed listing with a major national retailer
The awards programme involves both votes from the public and the input of who are all industry leaders in various fields.
Category
- Technology - products that support the primary cooking process. These can be traditional appliances (stoves, fridges, blenders etc) or new technology such as console based recipe books to computer programmes.
- Convenience - products that facilitate an easier process of creating good food, which have value added to them, thereby minimizing the processes required until final consumption.
- Packaging - products that bring something new to the South African food industry and must represent innovation and ease of use.
- Innovative Concept - products that aim at consumers interested in a healthier approach to their eating habits. Product will be tested based on consumer perception of their stance on healthy eating vs a pure mathematical breakdown of content.
- Grand Prix - product that best engages the consumer's imagination. It should both surprise the consumers and create a strong desire for the consumer to actually use the product.
