November goes off with a bang with Whisky Live Festival

The FNB Whisky Live Festival, which takes place in Cape Town at the CTICC from 3-5 November 2010 and in the Sandton Convention Centre from 10-12 November 2010, offers something for everybody over the age of 18, with returning favourites and new features.
November goes off with a bang with Whisky Live Festival

The Pick 'n Pay Food and Whisky Pairing Zone is launching at the festival this year, showcasing the fine art of pairing the sublime flavours of whisky with the intricate taste of fresh oysters, salmon, handmade chocolates, Italian meats and French cheeses.

The Icons of Whisky showroom, where whisky connoisseurs can taste a range of six to eight whiskies specially imported for the show is another new addition. The Lexus Connoisseurs Experience, which offers a chauffeured drive, a personalised guided tour of the festival and 'unique' tastings followed by dinner in the Lexus Whisky Lifestyle Lounge, the popular one hour, entertaining whisky workshops, and the Whisky Lifestyle Lounge Hospitality Package, will also be available.

Tickets to the Tasting Hall cost R180, with a range of other ticketing options available through Webtickets from mid-September, including new multi-day passes, and group bookings.

The Festival promotes responsible drinking. Dedicated driver tickets are available, which offer discounted food vouchers and a bottle of Valpre mineral water and there will be taxis on hand. Part of the proceeds will be donated to The Foundation of Alcohol Related Research.

For the technophiles, a Whisky Live Festival application has also been created for this year's show. The Whisky Live app will give a comprehensive guide to the whiskies available for tasting, indicate where they are situated in the tasting hall and furthermore, categorise the whiskies by flavour, enabling visitors to discover more whiskies that suit their palate.
