Traders' Corner donates profit to elderly

A R64 000 profit was donated by Garth Mackenzie, manager of the Imara Futures Fund and editor and founder of Summit TV's Monday night show Traders' Corner from the Monday 14 December 2009 show. The beneficiary was Gerald Fitzpatrick House, a home for the elderly.

In addition to his fund management duties at the Pan-African Imara financial services group, Mackenzie hosts the TV show and runs the trading advisory website www.traderscorner.co.za. The site provided funding of R250 000 to the live trading show in an effort to raise awareness of good trading practices and risk management. In the three months since launching the show, Mackenzie has grown the R250 000 investment to R313 768 - a return of over 25%.

Mackenzie has agreed to fund a new series of the Traders Corner TV show, which begins in the second week of January 2010. "Hopefully, we will have another healthy profit to donate to charity in April next year," said Mackenzie.
