It’s a wrap . . . Learners Philani and Busisiwe Nohulela help Game’s Iris Naidoo (centre) set up the gift wrap service at Game Gateway. Donations of R5 for each gift wrapped at any Game store will benefit thousands of disadvantaged schoolchildren across South Africa.

All donations of R5 for every gift-wrapped will go towards a fund that supports a range of educational programmes at disadvantaged schools.

Last year R400 000 was raised in this way, benefiting 66 000 deserving learners at schools throughout South Africa.

‘We want to say a big thank to you all our shoppers who cared enough to support this initiative last year and encourage them to do the same this year,' said the retailer's managing director, Jan Potgieter. ‘Christmas is a time for giving and, by adding a little to the presents they buy for their loved ones, they are extending the spirit of giving to those less fortunate than themselves.'

The Christmas gift-wrap initiative is one of many of the retailer's social investment projects that improve the quality of education for thousands of youngsters in every province, giving them a better start in life.
