Indigo Brands supports LGFB programme launch at UCT hospital

Each country operates independently but shares the same common goal. Look Good...Feel Better helps women facing the trauma and stress of cancer, assisting them to overcome the distressing appearance-related side-effects of their treatment.

Specially trained volunteer and Cape Town regional co-Ordinator of the Look Good...Feel Better organisation, Helen Ohlohff, guided the patients through a 12-step skin care and make-up regime with each woman using Yardley and Rimmel products. The patient is then able to take these products home and continue to enhance her appearance.

The aim is to allow patients the opportunity to forget about their illness and enjoy a time of pampering, fun and laughter.

Tershia Norton, leader of the UCT Private Academic Hospital, spoke at the event and thanked Indigo Brands for supporting the cause.

A few words from the patients:

"I feel more confident and good. I have just started chemo and this has been the best booster - thank you!" - Barbara Coluss

"I feel much more confident about doing my make-up; it was a lovely warm feeling to enjoy time with people sharing the same feeling." - Lynette Standley

"I enjoyed the 'time off' from being a patient." - Rifqah Roberts

"I no longer feel so alone, there is hope during chemo." - Elizabeth van Deventer
