Breast tumours grow faster in younger women
Breast tumours grow more slowly with age.
A new model that can estimate the growth rate of breast cancer, as well as the proportion of tumors detected at screening, shows slower growth rates with increasing age.
Researchers in Norway looked at the incidence of breast cancer and tumour measurement data in nearly 400 000 women aged between 50 to 69 years. They found that tumour growth varied significantly between the women, but that growth in younger women was faster.
