Are you safe from attacks in a South African state hospital?

Apparently not. According to a report in Times Live, security is so lax at some public hospitals that staff who should be ensuring staff such as doctors and nurses, and patients, and their possessions are safe, might be found being used as porters. Moreover, no one knows who holds the master keys.
CCTV cameras are not properly positioned, and often do not record events for later investigation - as they have no playback function - and security guards are either not paid, or paid late so they are open to bribery. Read more
