New nursing website launched

A new website for uplifting and informing nursing and the nursing profession was launched on 12 May 2009 by the University-based Nursing Education SA (UNEDSA) programme. The website enables nurses to seek jobs, find resources, and post their stories.

The nursing academic website will facilitate forum discussions and be the site where nurse academics exchange ideas and find resources to help elevate nursing to improve health care for all South Africans.

“We hope to use this site to empower nurse academics to play a leading role in academic life, health policy and advocacy, and that it will serve the broader South African nursing community by communicating strategic learning from each of the grantees,” said UNEDSA manager, Dr Vicki Pinkney-Atkinson as the site went live this morning.

To register as part of the UNEDSA Community of Practice, complete the registration form on the home page. Discussions are open to what nurses think about nursing, the profession, their status in society, their current working situations etc. A blog page will be added to the site soon, and podcasts and links to YouTube will also be a featured.

To view the site, go to www.unedsa.co.za.
