Making permanent cosmetics safer

USA - The Alliance for Safe Practice, a non-profit organisation supporting permanent makeup technicians, trainers and suppliers will present their proposal to reform state regulations governing permanent cosmetics at this year's International Intradermal Cosmetics Expo (IICE 2007), to be held in Dallas, Texas from 5 - 8 October 2007.

The Alliance for Safe Practice, whose mission is to advance safe practice in the permanent cosmetic and tattoos industries and to be a source of accurate and unbiased reporting for the industry and the public, has long crusaded for more consistent state regulations that would elevate the standards for permanent cosmetics technicians within the industry.

The organisation has also arranged for all of its members to receive free admission to the trade show and educational conference.

Non-members who join the Alliance before 20 September receive their full membership benefits as well as a free ticket to IICE 2007, a $399 value. IICE, the world's largest permanent cosmetics trade show and educational conference, has been held annually in North Texas for over 15 years.

This year's show will open Friday and extend until late Monday evening, offering attendees a full extra day of hands-on procedures and demonstrations in a newly expanded Grand Demonstration Ballroom at the Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West.

Master Makeovers precede the convention, offering technicians the opportunity to receive permanent cosmetics and touchups from the industries' finest technicians. Masters & Instructors Training and Certification will follow the convention, from 9 - 12 October.

The convention and trade show will offer hands-on procedures, live demonstrations, multi-media productions, new products and services and specialised training.

"IICE 2007 will host the world's foremost authorities in the permanent cosmetic industry as they strengthen technicians' awareness of new developments and deliver proven techniques that work!" says production manager, Michael Williams, who will bring eighteen years of experience in cinematography, television, film, corporate and production. This year's show will introduce several preemptory foundation classes and continuing education courses for the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics AIIC's new Certification Programs.

Permanent Cosmetic Competitions, a new feature to the event line-up, will offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced technicians the opportunity to compete for trophies, cash and other prizes.

Popular new specialty classes at IICE 2007 include:

  • Seeing is Believing-From the Eye Experts
  • Learning More About Lips & Time Saving Tips
  • Eyebrows, Fine Lines & Micro-Hairlines
  • Paramedical Professions & Protocols
  • Everything New & Exciting for Aestheticians
  • Animal Art

Other new Specialty Classes along with numerous educational programs back by popular demand will be offered at IICE 2007. An array of hands-on opportunities and advanced stage productions will blend theatrical, visual and graphic elements into an event that is guaranteed to dazzle the audience. Attendees can register for IICE, all specialty workshops and certification classes online at Premier Pigments Web Store, this year's event sponsor.
