Savvy moms talk about it

Sarah McKerron, author of Savvy Kids Food, Savvy Kids Menus and mother of two, has recently launched the Savvy Kids Moms blog. McKerron intends to use the network to share, with other parents, her experiences regarding the health and environmental issues that face today's children.

"I became more and more alarmed at the increase of ADHD, childhood diabetes, obesity and asthma being linked to chemical additives in food and cosmetics. I realised that it was up to me as a parent to find out what to do to give my kids the best possible start in life," says McKerron when asked about her motivation for starting Savvy Kids, an organic range for children. Savvy Kids is committed to products that are free of chemical additives, pesticides, herbicides, parabens, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulphate, artificial fragrances, colourants and preservatives.

"I feel so strongly about these issues and that there is so little emphasis placed on healthy eating and lifestyles in modern, busy lives. I decided to start Savvy Kids Moms so that I could write about what I experience everyday," she explains, " and I really hope that other parents will also become more aware of these issues, it is so important for our kids."
