"Eat Out is now in its ninth year and as part of our overall brand strategy we have revamped the website to ensure that it is the most current, up-to-date source of restaurant news and information in South Africa," says Eat Out publisher Lani Carstens of New Media, "in keeping with the magazine (on sale 27 November), which is regarded as the most definitive guide to eating out.
"The restaurant directory remains the main thrust of the website, with the key objective being to provide a one-stop portal for anyone who requires information on where to eat out," says Carstens.
"We have appointed Lara Boshoff as our dedicated online editor and without the space and time constraints of a magazine, we will constantly update the website and keep users abreast of the latest places to eat, the hot and happening spots, not to be missed industry news and much, much more."
According to Eat Out editor Abigail Donnelly, the website will also serve as an online community for restaurant-lovers with a monthly newsletter and the opportunity to exchange news, ideas and eat out experiences. "Locals are often the best source of information about what's hot and what's not on the dining out scene, and so we also encourage users to give us their own feedback by posting a comment on a recent dining experience.
