Creamer Media, Jobs.co.za in partnership
"Over the years we have developed a sophisticated Internet strategy for supplying the most up-to-date news and information. We saw the gap to include jobs information in our offering and believe it will serve as a real value-add for both readers and advertisers," says Creamer Media CEO Kenneth Creamer. "With the launch of the jobs portal, we can now support the daily news service with all the latest jobs on offer."
"Readers will be able to see what jobs are available via both the magazine and online versions of Mining Weekly and Engineering News, the Polity website and our free daily email newsletter. We have 70 000 print readers and 30 000 online viewers and can therefore offer advertisers a premier and targeted audience. We believe our multimedia approach will ensure advertisers find the skills they require in the most cost-effective manner."
The jobs profiled will predominantly be high-end positions within the engineering, mining and industrial sectors, but will also extend to skills required by the public service, legal fraternity, academia, government and non-governmental organisations.
Who's hiring?
The portal will feature a 'Who's hiring?' section, where those companies which constantly require skills will be able to list vacancies on an ongoing basis for a flat rate. In addition, because of the multimedia nature of the product, it is possible to advertise positions almost immediately on the website and daily email newsletter, supplemented by the subsequent print version.
Partners' expertise
Jobs.co.za is one of South Africa's most established online recruitment services, attracting more than 135 000 new unique visitors each month.
"We partnered with Jobs.co.za because they had the expertise necessary to develop the back end of this system. In addition, our advertisers and readers will benefit from the immediate critical mass offered by the tie-up, as all jobs posted on our website will also be posted on Jobs.co.za and visa versa. In addition, Jobs.co.za has a number of global partnerships in place, thus giving our readers access to job information from across the globe," adds Creamer.
"We were delighted at the opportunity to enter into the partnership with Creamer Media as they are positioned as industry leaders within their niche market," says Gillian Meier, CEO of Jobs.co.za. "With engineering, mining and government featuring consistently amongst our top ten most popular categories - both in terms of job opportunities and job seekers - this partnership fits in well with our strategy to align our business with industry leaders within our top categories. The value of the partnership, to our clients recruiting within the engineering, mining, industrial and public services sectors, is that their job ads will be aggregated onto their jobs portal, thereby reaching an very targeted passive and active talent pool."
