Blue-ray media offers five times capacity

Blu-ray media is getting more attractive to consumers for both home and professional use to record and archive data. Verbatim is said to meet this demand with its new Blu-ray disc BD-R 25GB 6x Printable, which offers up to 5 times the capacity of a DVD-R, guaranteeing reliable and safe long-term storage of files. With a burning time of less than 15 minutes, it is fully inkjet printable (22-117 mm) due to its printable surface to the inner ring.

It is ideal for recording films in high definition, backing up large amounts of data and long-term archiving of files including photos and videos. As with all the company's CD, DVD and Blu-ray media, the discs are supported by a lifetime warranty.

It offers its Hard Coat technology, a special scratch protection layer that protects the disc from scratches, fingerprints or dust, thereby helping to avoid recording or playback problems. "Thanks to this and the recording technologies developed by our parent company Mitsubishi Kagaku Media, customers can be confident they have media of the highest quality," comments Manny Cross, manager - Sub Sahara Africa at Verbatim.

"The parent company's R&D enables us to be at the forefront of blue laser technology such as the development of triple-layer 100GB capacity discs. The new media will be produced in its factory and is expected to be in the market by spring 2011," he concludes.
