Pick n Pay takes top spot in the best investor relations website awards.

Pick n Pay won the best investor relations website award, and attributes this to research and consultation in both functionality and design and its commitment to excellence in financial reporting, specifically in the electronic arena.

Penny Hinde, Pick n Pay project manager for the upgrade of the website, says, “Our objective in financial reporting is to find simplicity in what is very complex financial information. We want our users to understand what is being reported and find it relevant, informative and up to date.”

Hinde says Pick n Pay worked very closely with website adviser Element to deliver a site that was welcoming and user friendly.

“Engagement with the financial community was taken into account so that information was presented clearly, concisely and in a visually appealing way. In particular, we felt that through the overall layout and menu system a user is able to access information with as few clicks as possible.

“We studied international best practice and trends to ensure users get the best possible information. We encourage users to contact us and we implement all good suggestions, where possible.

“Our investor relations site, although primarily focused on financial information, should reflect the Pick n Pay brand and must fit in seamlessly with the website as a whole. As such, it was redesigned to reflect the company's brand line, Inspired by You, and received a facelift in conjunction with our brand relaunch.

“The website as a whole has improved and our sections on kitchen, lifestyles, envirozone, sport, health and nutrition and home shopping are all part of the mix. We are mindful that visitors to our site frequently look at more than what they first thought they might, and that consistency and a friendly, approachable look and feel are always important.”
