New marketing tool goes back to basics

Cat-a-tac Innovations has announced the next generation of marketing systems and software using Bluetooth® wireless technology.
New marketing tool goes back to basics

Existing systems have been primarily designed using standard proprietary PC components and build methods. This has resulted in systems that are large, power hungry and relatively fragile to the rigours of day-to-day use.

Going back to basics, this unit has designed as a solid-state computer system that is very small, very light, rugged and has very modest power requirements. Combining this with custom software that has some truly unique features has resulted in a marketing unit using Bluetooth® wireless technology that is destined to become a world leader. Particular emphasis has been placed on making both the software and hardware versions operate in such a way that it targets the devices successfully, without becoming intrusive.

Marketing

Research suggests around 90% of the population is carrying a mobile phone and that around 80% of these are Bluetooth® wireless enabled. These phones, PDA's and Laptops are the target of this Bluetooth® wireless system, this means approximately 50% of the population are potential recipients of marketing material delivered using Bluetooth wireless technology.

A wide variety of information files can be easily transferred to the target phones and devices. Significantly, this type of marketing has no delivery cost to either the sender or the recipient. The only costs involved with the entire system is the production of the information file to be transmitted and the Marketing Proximity unit purchase or rental, this means that 10000 people can be sent the message for he same cost base as sending to one person.

The new system is said to offer a very wide range of marketing options to a wide range of business sectors. For instance, Restaurants and shops can market special offers, events and what-have-you, while travel agents can provide news of latest deal, exchange rates and so on.
