Wirelessly streaming in stereo

Sony Ericsson has announced the launch of it's latest hands-free headset solutions, the HBH-DS200 and HBH-DS980, which use Bluetooth technology to put your phone at the heart of your music world.

The Sony Ericsson Stereo Bluetooth™ HBH-DS980 and HBH-DS200 headsets are wireless, hands-free devices designed to offer superior digital sound quality, for both phone calls and music listening.

Both are equipped with Bluetooth 2.0 in order to deliver better quality voice calls, while the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) ensures high quality sound for music listening. In addition to the stereo sound quality of the headset, the DS980 boasts digital noise cancellation/ echo reduction to reduce background noise.

The HBH-200, which weighs just 13.4 grams and offers up to 7 hours talk time, receives music streamed from your phone via Bluetooth. Accept or reject calls and control your phone's music player - never miss a call because the phone pauses your music automatically the moment that a call comes in.

Given a talk or music playback time of up to 6 hours, the HBH-DS980 has been designed with soft silicon ear buds provided in three sizes, so as to ensure an optimum fit with the size and shape of the wearer's ear. Weighing in at 27 grams and finished in a stylish charcoal colour, the device features a hidden ‘magic mirror' display that only becomes visible once the headset is activated. Use it to view the title of the song playing on your phone, the battery status of your headset or the details of the caller trying to reach you.

You can use the HBH-DS980 with more than one device simultaneously. The new multipoint function allows you to listen to music stored on a Bluetooth™ enabled PC/laptop and handle calls from your phone at the same time.

“As more and more people choose to store their digital music on their mobile phone, it becomes increasingly practical to use a Bluetooth™ stereo headset that can deliver quality audio,” explains Jacob Sten, Head of Accessories Business Unit at Sony Ericsson. “This latest headset manages to do this within a compact, stylish design that you will want to be seen wearing. It is so convenient that your phone need never leave your pocket.”

Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headsets are compatible with the Bluetooth mobile phones of both Sony Ericsson and other phone brands, that support the A2DP profile (streaming audio).
