PRISA salary survey

Remuneration is always an issue - everyone spends time thinking about what they can earn, and if they are being paid market-related packages. Organisations are only as good as the talent they are able to retain. Compensation, in its many forms, bonds human effort and bottom line results. A special discounted sponsorship rate is available to PRISA members.

The opportunity to earn competitively is now a minimum requirement to retain competent people, says PRISA. Exceptional results can be encouraged by creative reward structures.

A public relations and communication management remuneration survey is to be undertaken by PE-Corporate Services in partnership with PRISA - the Institute for Public Relations & Communication Management.

According to PRISA, this survey will contain comprehensive information in user-friendly formats. It will cover basic salary, benefits and annual cost of employment for different positions - from junior assistants to directors. Employment equity profiles will also be included as well as a remuneration trends.

Issues that will also be addressed include: 'how important is it for you to retain your talent? Total costs of loss and subsequent replacement of staff' (separation, acquisition and learning can conservatively amount to 37% of annual salary).

The benefits of participating in such a survey are that you will be able to:

  • Benchmark your remuneration standards.
  • Develop creative and flexible reward structures.
  • Project budgets against a trends analysis.
  • Ensure your salary structure is fair and free of anomalies.
  • Examine and compare your employment equity profile within industry job standards.
  • Help you prevent key personnel from leaving for higher remuneration.

    A special discounted rate has been negotiated for participation by PRISA members: R1 250 incl VAT and a copy of the survey. Data collection will be by PE Corporate Services via questionnaires and is confidential.

    A minimum number of companies are required to make the data meaningful. The survey will be available to non-participants for R2 500.
