Omo offers pop-up laundry stores at taxi ranks

Omo has launched a new concept to promote its new 2-in-1 product, a hand wash with a touch of Comfort, offering long lasting freshness. It has created pop-up laundry stores, Omo Washa Nathi, conveniently situated at taxi ranks in the community.

It launched over the long weekend in Mamelodi, Pretoria, where it will be running until 26 April 2013. The offer is limited to five items of machine washable clothing per customer, which may not include linen, underwear, handkerchiefs, nappies, suits, or jackets allowed. Items must be colour fast and no dry cleaning is available.

On Monday to Friday mornings, between 5-10am, customers are invited to drop off their clothes, where a brand ambassador accepts receipt and issues a laundry ticket. From there laundry bags are taken to the nearest branded laundry centre. Clothes are washed in a netted bag, dried (line or dryer), pressed and packed as a traditional laundry would. Then from 4-6pm, customers can collect their clean, stain free and freshly smelling garments, ironed and ready to wear together with their free sachet of washing powder.

The company has four pop-up laundries doing 630 washes per day, keeping 10 000 customers happy and distributing 300 000 Omo with a touch of Comfort samples.

"We know this unique promotion will excite and interest our consumers. Not only will the product leave their clothes clean, stain free and fresh but we will also be taking that weekly wash load off their shoulders," says Andrew Mysell, marketing manager, Omo.
