Giving today's youth a brighter tomorrow

Trinco tea is launching an on-pack promotion which places the brand firmly behind the education of the youth of South Africa, with the aim of providing them with a brighter future.

The Great Start to Life Campaign launches shortly and will offer R250,000 worth of cash prizes, to be put towards educational requirements, be it school fees, books, uniforms etc. The competition will run until the end of June 2009 and will see 25 winners receiving R10,000 to assist them with their educational needs.

The promotion will be running on specially marked Trinco 100's tagless tea bag packs. A promotional icon is printed on the pack, with details of how to enter appearing inside. Consumers can enter the competition by sending the unique code on the pack using one of three methods: sms, telephone or post.

"This promotion entrenches our positioning, which is giving back to the community and stressing the importance of a good education," comments brand manager, Stephanie Hoy.

The promotion will be supported above the line via a national television campaign, which will be aired on all SABC TV stations.

Below the line, the promotion will be reinforced by eye-catching and exciting in-store POS support within the retailers, as well as wholesalers and individual trader environments. These include wobblers, free-standing display units, base wraps, posters and drop banners.

In addition, an extensive public relations campaign has been planned to entrench the promotion. Three R10,000 prizes will be given away in strategically determined regional papers within KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

The three papers are Isolezwe, Ilanga and City Press.
