Buy local and be a proud supporter of the Nca!tion

Proudly SA Week, which will run from 17 to 22 September 2007, is a time for all South Africans to take stock of our accomplishments as a nation, and to stand up for our country. There is abundant positive evidence for being Proudly South African and for supporting quality Proudly South African products and services.

Proudly South African is more than a mere marketing campaign. It is a key competitiveness driver – a tool to promote domestic investment, economic growth and prosperity, to safeguard and help create jobs. This is achieved by promoting local companies, organisations, products and services that have a high level of quality and local content, follow good labour practices and are committed to high environmental standards. The Proudly South African mark of quality encompasses the four pillars of the campaign and therefore it is important to educate consumers to buy products that carry this mark.

In a move that is turning consumer purchasing around, “buying South African” is becoming a conscious choice.

The commitment of Proudly South African companies extends far beyond their own financial gain to guard the values at the core of this Campaign – including national pride, integrity, honesty, reliability and enthusiasm. These values inspire a level of excellence that maximizes value for all and promotes a positive contribution to our economy and society at large.

So why not make a special effort during September and look for the logo that represents quality and local content! By working together as a Proudly South African Nca!tion, we will build a better future for all South Africans.

Win!

In true Proudly South African spirit, Galaxy & Co has developed an ingenious competition in which both the public and aspiring jewellery designers stand to win. Participants should submit sketches or three-dimensional electronic mock-ups of their design(s) - either a collection or one piece - online to http://www.galaxyandco.co.za. Members of the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite piece/collection throughout September and also stand a chance of winning one of six rings set individually with a different colour gemstone, each in a colour of the South African flag. Visit your nearest Galaxy & Co store or the website for more details on this exciting initiative.

Make Proudly South African Week (17 – 22 September) a lifelong habit! Buy Local and be a proud supporter of the Nca!tion.
