Labelpak director Mark Sherriff explains, "The press, imported from the Netherlands, enables the company to expand its portfolio to include products such as silk screening, flexible packaging materials, printing back-and -front on adhesives and hot foiling.
"This machine will open up a whole new market for us, and we will be able to give increased focus to flexible packaging, which will encompass wraparound labels and sachets. It provides more dexterity to produce labels and offers a far quicker turnaround time, ultimately saving costs and reducing wastage. This means that we believe that we will be the only company in South Africa capable of producing all printing processes at one facility, effectively making us a one-stop-shop."
He concludes by stating the company has seen a rise in performance compared to 2009, a trend that he expects to continue as the market recovers from the effects of the recession.
