Nampak Flexible receives BRC rating
The certification is regarded as the benchmark for best practice in the food industry, and has evolved into a global standard used not only to assess retailer suppliers, but as a framework upon which many companies have based their supplier assessment programmes. This plays a particularly important role in the export markets where, according to Robin Moore, Nampak Flexible MD, the accreditation is vital for potential and existing customers who export to the United Kingdom and Europe where such accreditation is the entry ticket to supplying all the major supermarket chains.
"Obtaining accreditation at our Cape Town site is another significant step forward in turning the company into a world class business. Following our KwaZulu-Natal plant's certification in April last year, the company is the only flexible packaging company to achieve such accreditation at all its operations and one of very few packaging companies in South Africa to do so," says Moore.
Moore adds that through standards such as this, along with the ISO (International Standards Organization) and AIB (The American Institute Of Baking) certifications already held by the company, it aims to consistently meet and exceed the exacting quality standards and expectations of its customers.
