Adderley St Nando's captures old and new

Nando's restaurant in Adderley Street is one of its flagship stores, serving a variety of clientele representing the mix of cultures and demographics of the Mother City. Recently revamped, its contemporary new look, which incorporates local flavours, the traditional warm Nando's family vibe and great historical elements of one of the most iconic locations in the central CBD, fits in flawlessly with the vibey street and fast pace of its customers.

“We are very proud of the revamped restaurant and its location. Being part of the Adderley Street community in itself is a great factor and the wonderful look and feel of our restaurant encapsulates this,” said franchisee owner, Andre van de Watt.

Bringing more true Cape Town flair to the restaurant is the fact that it is situated next to Trafalgar Place (between Strand Street and Darling Street), where the iconic Cape Town flower market is situated. Friendly flower sellers have used this spot since the 1860s to sell freshly cut seasonal flowers, including fynbos species such as king and pincushion proteas.

Surrounded by these historic treasures lends uniqueness and integrity to the outlet, which is exemplified by creative artwork featuring emerging local artists.

“We are excited and privileged to blend the old with the new and our restaurant will add some exciting flavour to the mix. Over the festive summer season, the restaurant will be open 24 hours every day and with our close proximity to the Grand Parade, we are already gearing up for the big 2010 World Cup, ” concludes Van de Watt.
