Personality's first local commercial in 10 years

Tevo's decision to market shoX, billed as the world's smallest portable speaker, to a ‘happening' youth market has achieved what many thought was almost impossible – an endorsement by well-known TV personality, actor and Idols presenter Colin Moss.
Personality's first local commercial in 10 years

Moss does not easily lend his name to a local product and has not appeared in a product TV commercial in the past 10 years, something his manager Ronnie Whitaker of Quirky House puts down to ‘the honesty factor'.

“Colin will only endorse a product he uses. He has starred in numerous global and international advertisements, but has steered clear of South African commercials until now. He was blown away by shoX and wanted to put his name behind it,” Whitaker explains.

“I had it with me on rehearsal days during the Idols top 10 and they all wanted one. Most of the crew and cameramen wanted one as well. I love it! I think it's a ground-breaking product and every person I have shown it to has had exactly the same reaction as I had when I first saw it – ‘Where can I get one?'” Moss comments.

Appeal to a wide audience

Patrick Bennett, director of Tevo, believes that shoX will appeal to a wide audience from young people wanting to play music off their cellphones and other media… to adults and professionals, making Moss the perfect fit for the brand.

The television commercial was shot recently by director Clive Morris of Clive Morris Productions. “It is a very slick, clean, modern advertisement in keeping with the revolutionary nature of the product. I also worked with a great bunch of extremely talented kids who ‘jammed' to the music,” says Moss.

The dancers were from shoX's target market and also raved about the product.
