Musical giants join SARRAL Board

SARRAL, the non-profit society looking after the rights of composers of musical works wherever such musical works are being recorded, has announced the new members elected to their Board of Directors. The appointments of Selaelo Selota, Capetonian Mynie Grove and Hugh Masekela are important developments as each brings diverse critical skills and insight.

Musician-producer Selota is young and dynamic; singer-songwriter-producer Grove balances the gender issue and regional representation while world-renowned musician and visionary Masekela's numerous years of experience perfectly compliment and fulfill the current Board's vision to be truly representative of the members it serves by electing people who form part and parcel of the membership base.

SARRAL Board Chairman; Mothobi Mutloatse said, "SARRAL is delighted to welcome the new directors. They join the Board at an exciting time when the SARRAL Corporate Governance policy has recently been adopted. This charter has crystalised the undertaking that each director will execute his or her fiduciary duties with the utmost integrity".

Mutloatse adds " Of course, all three are passionate about the South African musical heritage, and proudly so in their own right".

SARRAL's objective is the protection, enforcement and enhancements of composer's rights wherever possible. It has been operating since 1963.
