Wholesale trade sales down 2.4% y/y in October

Wholesale trade sales slipped 2.4% year on year (y/y) in October‚ Statistics SA data showed on Thursday, 11 December 2014.

Sales were measured in real terms using constant 2012 prices.

Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales decreased by 3.7% in October 2014 compared with September 2014. This followed month-on-month changes of 2.8% in September 2014 and 3.9% in August 2014.

Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales increased by 1.9% in the three months ended October 2014 compared with the previous three months.

Measured in nominal terms (current prices)‚ wholesale trade sales increased by 3.6% in October 2014 compared with October 2013.

Wholesale trade sales increased by 7.1% in the three months ended October 2014 compared with the three months ended October 2013.
