Retail Advertising Conference heads to SA

The Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB), in association with its holding company Caxton/CTP Publishers and Printers, will host South Africa's first ever international Retail Advertising Conference (RAC) in Johannesburg, 12 August 2008, and Cape Town 14 August 2008.

RAC is world famous for being the largest gathering of retail marketing and advertising executives in the industry. It is produced by the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA), a division of the National Retail Federation (NRF), and held annually in the US. RAC attracts exciting and ground breaking US retailers, international attendees and top class presenters.

Caxton/CTP says it is committed to sharing these findings with South African retailers. "This year we want more! We want to bring these findings, insights, trends and concepts to SA and share them directly with our retail advertisers," says John Bowles, Joint MD of NAB.

As an attendee of the annual RAC in Chicago, NAB sees the conference as the perfect arena to gather insights, network, and develop skills that can be adapted to the South African marketplace.

"We've had great success and this is part of the reason why we make the annual pilgrimage again and again," adds Bowles.

RAC Lite will offer something for all those in retail, but more specifically, retail advertising. Geared towards CEOs of South Africa's retail scene, marketers, merchandisers, advertising agencies, buying shops and even students planning to enter the retail or retail advertising arena, it is a conference not to be missed. "The main idea is for delegates to take a day out to gain insights into the retail business sector that they are unlikely to get anywhere else," Bowles adds.

Caxton/CTP, in association with NAB and RAMA, is lining up top US speakers from a variety of Fortune 500 retail companies. Contact Robyn Joseph for more information at or call her at (011) 889 0715.
