ICASA hearings on end-to-end leased lines, other wholesale markets

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa will be holding public hearings to define end-to-end leased lines and other wholesale markets tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 October 2007 and Thursday, 25 October.

This follows the publication in May 2007 of a notice inviting interested parties to submit written submissions on the Discussion Document which forms the basis of these public hearings. The process informs the subsequent regulation making process in the Electronic Communications Act which requires ICASA to define markets for the purposes of regulation.

The hearings will be held as follows:

Dates: Wednesday, 24 October; and Thursday, 25 October 2007
Time: 8.30am – 3.330pm
Venue: ICASA Block B, Basement area, Pinmill Farm, 164 Katherine Street, Sandton, Johannesburg
