The centre has enjoyed the support of Steinhoff Africa over the last four years and their participation has enabled the 'extended family programme' to become a success. This programme provides a holistic social support service to HIV / AIDS affected child-headed families and enable the children to live with relatives and not displace them from their familiar surroundings and the people they love.

Steinhoff Africa Marketing Director, Derrik Matthew says being able to have a positive impact on the devastating effect of HIV / AIDS by helping to empower these children and create a brighter future for them, is very rewarding.

"Through Steinhoff Africa's support, each child is registered at the relevant government department to access child support grants. The programme also allows for counseling and life skills training, as well as providing nutritional care, basic material needs and educational and healthcare support."

Furthermore Steinhoff South Africa has been able to offer the children internships and job placements within the company.
