OFM scoops radio award

OFM reporter Mpho Rapatha, a relative newcomer to the profession, scooped the Radio News category at the Vodacom Journalist of the Year Awards for her coverage of the death of Noby Ngombane, a high-profile government official in the Free State province.

The judges said that Rapatha had received the award "for the insightful up-to-date radio news reportage in March this year in which various authoritative sources were interviewed about the murder of Noby Ngombane, policy co-ordinator in the office of the Premier of the Free State".

Rapatha describes her win as recognition - not only for her work - but for the news team as a whole.

Margaret Linström, OFM's News Manager, says the win was proof of OFM's commitment to bring its listeners the latest news from Central South Africa, South Africa and the world.
