SABS media award

The SABS has identified and honoured key stakeholders for their contribution towards the development of standards and standardisation-related issues during the 2010-2011 financial year.

The media award gives recognition to media houses for creating awareness about standards and issues related to standardisation through the media, eg papers presented, articles published, publicity programmes presented etc.

While the intention of the award is to honour journalists, editors and others involved in the media, individuals who regularly write and publish relevant articles on standardisation are also eligible for the award.

Local Media Awards

New to this year's Sanlam MDDA Local Media Awards competition are three sections in the writing category; editorial comment, medical and health, and headlines. Photography now has portraits as a separate section and is no longer part of the human-interest section.

The prize giving has also been moved to Friday 18 November.
