Meanwhile, National Press Club (NPC) chairperson Yusuf Abramjee has said that ANC attempts to control the media are 'totally unacceptable', reports Mail & Guardian.

- IOL: Board moves to suspend SABC boss... One begins to wonder when this whole sorry saga at the SABC is going to end; the national broadcaster should be reporting the news, not making it - and then for all the wrong reasons.
- IOL: Press victory as meeting is halted... Why the attempt at secrecy anyway? We, who pay our TV licences (whether or not we watch anything from the SABC), should be able to know what is going on. Whatever happened to transparency?
- Mail & Guardian: 'Govt attempts to control media unacceptable'... A free media is a cornerstone of any true democracy. A silenced one is a hallmark of every banana republic - does the ANC really want SA to be lumped in with the latter bunch?
