    2008 Tabbie winners unveiled

    CLEVELAND, US: The 2008 Tabbie Awards resulted were announced earlier this week, featuring more than 700 entries, with nominations coming from the US, Canada, UK, Australia, France, Ireland, Lebanon, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland and the UAE.

    Judges, of which South Africa's Natalia Thomson of Now Media (a 2006 TABPI Young Leaders Scholarship award winner) was one, commented favorably on the high quality of the submissions.

    Highlighting the Best Single Issue category — the competition's most comprehensive — are entries from BUILDER, National Real Estate Investor, and Inbound Logistics, which took the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards respectively. The Top 25 of the Best Single Issue category include Modern Healthcare, millimeter, Legal Business, Benefits Canada, Construction Week, Architect, FUEL, and SQM.

    Gold design award winners are Information Security for Feature Design, Business Quotient for Front Cover, Digital Imagery; Pharmacy Practice for Front Cover, Illustration; Graphic Arts Monthly, for Front Cover, Photograph; SN's Whole Health/Supermarket News for Front Cover, Special Issue; NYSE for Opening Page or Spread and New Zealand Retail for Table of Contents.

    Gold editorial award winners are Storage for Department; Publishers Weekly for Editor's Column; Physicians Practice for Feature Article; Fortune for Focus/Profile Article; BUILDER for How-To Article; Chemist+Druggist for News Coverage; Law Technology News for Regular Column; Network World for Single News Article; NYSE for Special Section and Storage for Technical Article.

    This year's Best B2B Website winners are Accountancy Age, Computerworld and Modern Healthcare, which won the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. In the new Online Feature category, Computerworld, PC World, and Therapy Times won the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.

    Magazines that took home four or more awards are Architect, Computerworld, CRM magazine, Exhibitor Magazine, HemAware, Interiors & Sources, Modern Healthcare, Network World, New Zealand Retail, PC World, Pharmacy Practice, Professionally Speaking, REALTOR Magazine, rt image, and Storage.
