Call for nominations for the 2019/20 Amasa Joburg Committee
Amasa (the Advertising and Media Association of South Africa) is calling for nominations from self-motivated movers and shakers who would be interested in serving on the Amasa Joburg Committee in 2019/2020. Amasa is an industry association that actively works to improve the education, knowledge and skills of the people working in this critical sector of the economy. In this way, it aims to empower them to improve their decision-making abilities and to develop both the industry and their own careers.
Anyone who works in the communications, media or advertising industry and who is interested in standing for election as a voluntary Committee member may nominate either themselves or anyone else who is willing to stand. Nominations can be submitted by e-mail and voting will take place at Amasa’s Annual General Meeting, which will take place on Wednesday, 15 May 2019 at the Ster Kinekor Head Office in Sandton (details below).
If you would like to be part of taking the industry to new heights, help us to make the Amasa Joburg Committee a well-balanced, representative body that includes media owners, agency representatives and marketers working at all levels within the industry.
Committee members find that being part of such a dynamic organisation is very rewarding, both professionally and personally, and that it offers them excellent networking opportunities. It’s also a lot of fun, so make your nomination now!
Industry go-getters who are interested in serving on the Amasa Committee for 2019/2020 will be required to:
- Manage a dedicated portfolio on the Committee and assist with other portfolios whenever necessary;
- Attend monthly Committee meetings and forums;
- Demonstrate the same passion, selflessness and energy that the current Committee has shown; and
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative, forward-looking strategies designed to help Amasa evolve and remain a significant and relevant industry association.
Nomination process
Should you wish to nominate yourself or a colleague to stand for election to the Amasa 2019/2020 Committee, please download this form and submit a short motivation and picture of yourself (or your colleague) to Memoria Masilela (az.oc.snoitatsdetinu@airomem) and Andrew Maluleka (moc.liamg@asamatawerdna).
If you are nominating someone for the election, please ensure that they have agreed to stand.
Voting will take place at the Amasa Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 15 May 2019. The AGM will be held at the Ster Kinekor Head Office, Primovie Park, 185 Katherine Street, Sandton (4pm for 4.30pm). The deadline for nominations is noon on Monday, 13 May 2019 and the new Amasa Committee will be announced immediately after voting has taken place.
