Caxton rewards employees

The Annual Caxton Excellence Awards sees Caxton's best newspapers and employees recognised for their contributions. Journalist of the Year went to Gloria Edwards of the Springs and Brakpan Advertiser. Sold Newspaper of the Year with average circulation of 8000 and more was awarded to the South Coast Herald for the second time.

Northglen News walked away with Free Newspaper of the Year with average pagination of 24 and more.

To encourage and maintain outstanding quality in Caxton's stable of free and sold newspapers, the current awards see two new categories. Winner in the new Best Get It Magazine category was the Sandton Rosebank Get It. Taking away the Best Niche Product Writing award was Lauren Schultz (Get It, North).

Best Hard News Photograph: ‘Holding on for life’, Melody Brandon, Bedfordview/ Edenvale News
Most Promising Journalist of the Year: Melody Brandon, Bedfordview/ Edenvale News & Joburg Express
Field Salesperson of the Year: Hennie de Vos, Bedfordview/ Edenvale News
