International paediatric expert on South African lecture tour

Prominent paediatrician Professor Benny Kerzner will be in South Africa in early February to deliver a series of lectures to medical and nutritional professionals.

Prof. Kerzner is an ex-South African who obtained both his BSc in Biology and his medical degree at the University of Witwatersand. He has been brought to the country by Abbott Nutrition/Pediasure and will deliver talks on feeding problems affecting infants and toddlers to medical and nutrition professionals around the country.

Prof. Kerzner is the chairman of the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Children's National Medical Center's Surgical Center in Washington DC. He is a Professor of Paediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine. After studying in South Africa, Prof. Kerzner completed a fellowship in Paediatric Gastroenterology at The Hospital for Sick Children at the University of Toronto. His main research interests relate to gastrointestinal disorders particularly in the areas of nutrition and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

7 February 2008 at Sica's Guest House in Durban
