The award are organised by the Federated Hospitality Affairs and Tourism of Southern Africa (FEDHASA) and supported by various organisations including Absa, the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEAT) and the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).

Brett Duncan, CEO of FEDHASA, says, “Since the inception of the awards in 2001, they have always emphasised the importance of the credentials of the judges. We see them as playing a pivotal role in assisting entrants, to improve existing or implement new responsible tourism programmes.”

Entrants will be accepted in the following categories: best social involvement programme; best practice-economic impact; best overall environmental management system and best single resources management programme.

Entrants may send in more than one application in the different categories and should be in by 31 August 2007.
