2013 Young South Africa series back in June

Between 10 and 5 has reignited its Young South Africa series and in the month of June, it will feature young locals doing exceptional things in creative fields and the projects that celebrate or document youth culture in South Africa.

The 2013 Young South Africa series kicks off with an interview and portfolio showcase of war photographer Ryan Heughn Jacobs. A freelance photojournalist, working for news outlets across South Africa and abroad, at the age of 27, he has already captured three wars, in Libya, Syria and Palestine and is passionate about what he does.

The series covers all creative fields, ranging from photography, illustration, product design, fashion, art and commercial advertising work.

While Young South Africa was judged a success in 2012, the first article in the series has already surpassed expectations by receiving over 250 shares on social media sites within the first 12 hours of being published.

Representing who young South Africa is

Editor Alix-Rose Cowie, says "The series is a great way to make people aware of and excited about the younger generation of creatives in South Africa. We want the series to be a dedicated space that represents who young South Africa is, what they're producing and what they're thinking."
