Radio Pulpit to be broadcast on Radio 2000 - with no ads

Radio Pulpit has entered into a new contract to broadcast on the Radio 2000 Transmitters with Dr Nico de Kock of the SABC. One of the conditions in the agreement is that no commercial adverts may be aired on the Radio 2000 transmission.

This effectively means that Radio Pulpit will not be able to accept any traditional advertising from 04h00 to 11h00.

However Radio Pulpit broadcasts 24 hours a day on MW657 and adverts may be placed between 11h00 and 24h00 Monday to Saturday.

It has been agreed that SABC will allow Radio Pulpit to honour all agreements with current advertisers until the expiry of current booked campaigns, but that from 7 June 2002 no new commercial advertisement bookings may be accepted for broadcasts on the Radio 2000 Transmitters.

This condition will remain in force until such time as an amendment is made to the contract or Radio Pulpit is able to get a permanent broadcast licence of its own. This is currently being negotiated.
