Spotlight on commercials Dogstar Awards 2004

Entry forms for this unique competition are being distributed via crewing agents, production and post production houses and are also available at www.dogstarawards.co.za or from the organisers, Gecko Communications and via inserts into Screen Africa.

The Dogstar Awards give hard working crews toiling on commercials shot in South Africa, the chance to have some time in the limelight, showcasing their talents and technical prowess in various areas not normally acknowledged in the commercials industry.

All entries must come from South African producers, production companies and crew and can be entered into one of two sections: Commercials made FOR South Africa (made and screened locally) or, Commercials made BY South Africa (made locally but screened overseas).

Categories include: The two Canis Major Awards for the best overall commercial (local and overseas categories), best director, best grip design, best original music, best sound design, best in camera special effects, best stunt, best creative direction for editing, best digital FX, best animation, best art director, best wardrobe, best make up, best casting director, best performance and best young (under 30) director.
