SA art director to compete in Clio Future Gold

NEW YORK: Art director Annie Klintworth of Lowe Bull Cape Town is one of 12 finalists under 30 years old who will compete in the 2008 Clio Future Gold | Young Creatives Programme, the organisers of the 49th Annual Clio Awards and Festival announced yesterday, Thursday, 24 April 2008.

The competition, whose mission is to elevate and inspire up-and-coming talent in the advertising industry, will take place at the 2008 Clio Festival, 14 - 17 May, at the Gansevoort South Hotel in South Beach, Miami, Florida.

These talented young copywriters and art directors will attend the upcoming Clio Festival, where they will be paired into six teams and asked to respond to a creative brief from client sponsor Yahoo! within 24 hours. All work will be judged by a panel of world-renowned 2008 Clio Awards jury members and later presented to Yahoo! before an audience of Clio Festival delegates.

The winning team will be awarded on stage at the Clio Awards Gala on the evening of 16 May at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater.

The Clio Future Gold | Young Creatives Program is coordinated by the Clio Awards, in conjunction with ihaveanidea (www.ihaveanidea.org). Technology for the programme is provided by Rackspace IT Hosting and Limelight Networks.

The 49th Annual Clio Awards will be presented during the 2008 Clio Festival, 14 - 17 May, at the Gansevoort South Hotel in South Beach.
